Mel Brimfield's complex practice takes a skewed and tangled romp through the development of performance art, simultaneously revealing and inventing a rich history of collaboration between visual artists, dancers, theatre makers, political activists and comedians. It sees the debut of the second episode of This Is Performance Art, Brimfield's ongoing fictional TV series investigating "what is omitted, forgotten, lost and fictionalised by the faulty mechanics of museological, curatorial and archival approaches to assimilating performance art history."
The above work consists of 1 minute 30 second extracts from the project. To see the work in its entirety you will need to visit the exhibition.
