On November 2, 2012 I set out to record the sound of bullets being shot into a automobile. This video takes you on the journey to "crazy". Multiple microphones were used on the session and the video demonstrates the different types of sounds the microphones produce depending on where they were placed. Some are very close up and others are further away from the SUV being shot at. Some are presented isolated and others are combinations of two in stereo. It looks dangerous and it was but with the expert marksmanship from Richard Harlicker the gear survived without a scratch. Me on the other hand... I was exhausted after this 5 hour shoot.
These sound effects are in the BULLETS HD PRO SFX Library from The Recordist.
