They’re starting to make things like they used to. From metal foundries to paper-makers, liquor distillers to knife-smiths, small industry is exploding in Brooklyn.
“Made in Brooklyn” is a new series that documents these artisans’ work. Inspired by the format of “How It’s Made,” the show details the process of small scale production to demonstrate the craft, rather than the kitsch, of the new-old industrial process.
The show’s production elements — thoughtful visuals, simple voiceover, and inspired music — mirror the spirit of the subject matter. “Made In Brooklyn” is an affirmation of the maker spirit growing in Brooklyn and spreading through America.
