This video was made using an iPhone 4 and the PhoneScope 3D. It demonstrates what this device can do.
The PhoneScope 3D is special macro lens with a ring light. Probably one of the most unique features of this device is its 3D surface scanning capability. 3D surface scanning is based on a photo-metric stereo process. It involves lighting a scene from different directions. The captured images are then compiled to produce a 3D impression that scene.
3D surface scanning allows you to see and enhance detail in a new way. It moves past what a 2D photo allows. The 3D data also allows you to alter the scene in ways that a 2D photo simply can't do. Within the video you'll see how a scene can be re-positioned as well as re-lighted from different directions.
If a 2D photo means a thousand words then a 3D scan adds a dimension more.
