After 12 years of drought, Ann was really sick of "having nothing but dry" around the house.
She went looking for a house in a location that had a bit of moisture in it, and three years ago, she found one in Bendigo's Spring Gully.
Ann's garden is a place that birds and animals share.
It's where she spends most of her days, either actively working or just eating breakfast. Anne is a birdwatcher and knows the calls and can identify all the visiting birds.
Anne holds working bees in her garden with her friends and finds it a great way to tackle some of the bigger jobs like planting fruit trees.
Anne is enjoying making a productive and beautiful garden.
I did the filming and sound recording for this video and edited it together with ABC Open producer for Central Victoria Jane Curtis.
