On Saturday 15th November 2012 Ben Robson and Brendan Bayly organised and ran a 6 hour endurance race down the Kaituna River. The Race outline was to compete solo or in teams of 3 consisting of 2 men and 1 woman. Each member must paddle down the grade 5 Kaituna River then load their kayak on the shuttle trailer and run the 2.5Km back up the bush track to the top where the transition would set the next competitor off down the course. This would carry of for 6 hours throughout the day. Lap times slowly grew longer over the day but teams remained close. At 5hours and 45 minutes into the race Ben shut the course off and teams raced for line honors. Four teams made it across the line with 24 total runs and Jamie Sutton won the solo category with a total of 21 runs.
This film was shot and edited on the day to show the competitors at the prize giving that night. For more information on event videos contact me at joshneilson@gmail.com
