The narrative power of corporate 'green washing' driven by the automobile industry brings pollution and water depletion, destruction of fragile habitats and loss of biodiversity in the Atacama Desert.
This animation aims to raise concern about this narrative that benefits from an uncritical and unjust transition to fossil fuel energy, where the extractivist model expands to new sacrifice zones, with communities in the Global South paying the consequences for supposedly greener lifestyles in the Global North.
Through sarcasm, the Climate Smart Mining video challenges and inverts this narrative in order to show solidarity with frontline communities, hold corporate power accountable and seek justice, equity and redistribution of what belongs to the communities themselves.

El poder narrativo del ‘green washing’ corporativo impulsado por la industria del automóvil trae la contaminación y el agotamiento de las agua, la destrucción de hábitats frágiles y la pérdida de biodiversidad en el Desierto de Atacama.
Esta animación pretende despertar la preocupación por esta narrativa que se beneficia de una transición acrítica e injusta de la energía de los combustibles fósiles, donde el modelo extractivista se expande a nuevas zonas de sacrificio, siendo las comunidades del Sur Global las que pagan las consecuencias por modos de vidas supuestamente más verdes en el Norte Global.
A través del sarcasmo, el video Climate Smart Mining desafía e invierte esta narrativa con el fin de mostrar la solidaridad con las comunidades de primera línea, responsabilizar al poder corporativo y buscar la justicia, la equidad y la redistribución de lo que les pertenece a las propias comunidades.

Die von der Automobilindustrie vorangetriebene "grüne Wäsche" der Unternehmen führt in der Atacama-Wüste zu Umweltverschmutzung und Wasserverschmutzung, zur Zerstörung empfindlicher Lebensräume und zum Verlust der Artenvielfalt.
Mit dieser Animation soll die Besorgnis über dieses Narrativ geweckt werden, das von einem unkritischen und ungerechten Übergang zu fossilen Brennstoffen profitiert, bei dem sich das extraktivistische Modell auf neue Opferzonen ausdehnt, wobei Gemeinschaften im globalen Süden die Konsequenzen für einen angeblich grüneren Lebensstil im globalen Norden zahlen.
Durch Sarkasmus stellt das Video Climate Smart Mining dieses Narrativ in Frage und kehrt es um, um Solidarität mit den Gemeinschaften an vorderster Front zu zeigen, die Macht der Unternehmen zur Rechenschaft zu ziehen und Gerechtigkeit, Gleichheit und Umverteilung dessen, was den Gemeinschaften selbst gehört, zu erreichen.
