LA CASINA ROSSA (The Red House)
there, where the path of your feet wends whilst these violet flowers drink my moods
well how you carry free your divine hair I have the oldest letters but you the incessant
lapping of water that falls I offer my sprayed cheek for a respiration
in the darkness of my little room each day I lend my bones another form
searching for a scented prey not so it might be black nor that this forgetting be a feast I can carry
these pines like vaulted crowns over my head my poet state cannot bleed the pebbles
but you said wind and well a town appeared where stones speak and where in the day
we wear shirts of a graceful white like the leopards who lead my coach on the ancient appia highway
