LYING IN BETWEEN BERLIN 2011. 11:39 MIN. HANDYCAM
This video work aesthetically collides the field of the common, the familar, the ordinary with the sphere of the extra-ordinary, the uncommon and strange by documenting patiently how a simpel written phrase on a steamy train window transforms it´s shapes according to the light that breaks through the glass.
The special thing about this work is: It doesn´t intend to force a stable view or a routine of perceiving something ordinary as somthing magic, in the contrary. By setting the fragile poetry of the everyday under pressure of possible devaluation by the agent of the rational, the relevant, the outstanding dominating our individual and corporate systems perception, this work highlights the power of the frontier zone between the unpretentious and the extra-ordinary. The transformative potential of the captured image that never is variated in it´s frame enfolds it´s complete energy in the course of time. Through this simple and constant visual gesture the piece enunciates a powerful relation between steadiness and transformation and underlines the everyday as a ferment, that makes something working as long as it get´s space to exist.
