We created this time-lapse video from images taken of our Solar Snow Management products, installed on a solar array, at our in-house research and snow guard testing facility in Vermont.

This snow guard performance video is of snowfall in April of 2021.

Alpine SnowGuards solar snow guards act as barricade systems, preventing large pieces of snow and ice from falling off the array. Our durable snow guards includes a variety of retention systems to accommodate a wide range of roof pitches and roof types with solar arrays mounted on top.

Alpine SnowGuards snow management systems are essential for solar array that collects and sheds snow onto important egress points. Snow and ice can avalanche off of sloped pitches, posing a hazard to people and property below. Alpine SnowGuards solar snow retention products hold the snow and ice in position, allowing it to melt and shed gradually, instead of all at once, preventing injuries to pedestrians and property damage.

This video features a former upslope guard that evolved into the Solar Snow Dog, a key component of our solar snow management system.
