I made this short video for the One Day on Earth 12/12/12 global documentary project.
I had meant to film something in Rhodes town about the effects of the Greek economic crisis: closed shops, protesters, people's thoughts and fears or wishes for the future to fit in with ODOE's topic "What do you need?" As it happened, the ferry to take me that day from Tilos to Rhodes had stopped service. Talking about needs...
So instead of lots of people talking about their wishes for the future, I filmed this quiet agricultural scene on Tilos.
To all non-Greek speakers who won't make out the accent: the man in the field is Albanian - like officially about 5% of the population in Greece.
Over the past years, I have seen a lot of people on Tilos starting to cultivate fields again that had lain fallow for a long time. So in a way, this is still an answer to the questions "What do you have?" and "What do you need?"... Enjoy!
