The Finn Bernhard Hendrik Crusell was not only a composer but also first clarinet for 32 years in the
Hovkapellet (the royal symphony orchestra of Stockholm). His clarinet concerto in F minor (1808) is
considered by many to be his finest work; also here we sense that Beethoven is not far away. The work
was premièred in London in 1815.
