This is the first episode of Interior Traces, a new radio play with accompanying video works and new musical score exploring how different ways of looking at the brain change how we think about the mind, madness, and responsibility. The project was funded by the Wellcome Trust, LCACE, and UCL, and details of the project, team, live events and broadcasts are at interiortraces.com
EPISODE 2 SYNOPSIS:
Mick is caught after the vicious murder of a criminal associate, and put on trial. One of the witnesses is an ‘alienist’, an asylum doctor specialising in criminal insanity. The alienist is fascinated by the possible links between Mick’s ruthless behaviour and his physiognomy, and arranges to dissect his brain after he is found guilty and sentenced to death.
