From Rev. Don: Last evening (June 10) I participated in the online worship that was prepared for the 96th Anniversary of the Inaugural Service of The United Church of Canada. There was a big service that day in Toronto, in 1925 (where the denominational officials were). But the day was celebrated across the country as people everywhere celebrated a new venture. I so appreciated the worship, that I decided to share it with you in this worship video! The service is led, in large measure, by United Church Moderator, the Right Reverend Richard Bott. There’s lots of great music, and lots to ponder given what is going on in Canada in this historic moment. There was an extended musical prelude, and I have shifted that, in the video version, to the end. Because of time limits, the phone-in worship line (705) 243-6189 includes highlights from the service.
By the way, this is the last worship video for a while. Our Summer Sabbath begins this week, and we will see you again, one way or another, mid-August!
