Created for the 10 seconds Video Challenge, I decided to explore the less cheerful aspects of Christmas, but with a hopeful eye, letting the scene light up to familiar Holiday elements. Shot at low speed, I use candles as the front light sources, and Christmas lighting for the back ones. In order to be able to shoot the scene in one single take, it is done in reverse, so it appears the candles light up by themselves, while they are actually being blown up during the shooting. The 6 musical notes are later matched to the lighting coming up, and some minor video speed adjustments added. Final touches include color correction to bring up the mid tones, and grading to give a slightly warmer feeling.
