BBC Presentations: “A History of Alternative Comedy”
Animator/Director: Elroy Simmons
A friend from my college days – Michael Yanny, asked if I'd animate this in short time (12 days – from the initial meeting/Storyboarding to completing the Animation) in 1999. It was the first time I'd felt so exposed working on something; I was the only Animator and the Animation drawings were all from caricatures drawn by me. I remember my Lenny Henry NOT making it into the final cut; he was dresseed as Delbert Wilkins – and though I never saw the moving linetest, I was aware when drawing it, that if my attempt at Lenny 'flicking of the wrist' didn't appear ruder than intended, then that would have been a miracle. This job - and its screening, got me the offer of work at Pizazz.
