Project done during the hou205 houdini course from fxphd.
Was done using houdini 12, mantra and nuke.

I did a lot of custom tools to control the simulation, like controlling the size of chucks based on distance from impact point, impact force, real time particle sourcing, and go on...

Took almost 100Gb sim files, about 1h for each simulation. Render took 3-4 minutes for the rocket pyro for each frame (raytrace shadows), and 5-6 minutes for the smoke sim (deep map shadows), on a dual 6-core machine.
