The San Diego County Sheriff's Department works closely with our community partners to make sure those in our custody have access to programs that will give them a second chance upon their release back to society.
CBS 8's Jeff Zevely recently caught up with Kory Russell, who turned his life around while at the East Mesa Detention Facility. The father of two stayed connected with his daughters thanks to a partnership between the Sheriff's Department and Reading Legacies. The non-profit program gave Kory the ability to read bedtime stories to his girls while in custody.
Watch this Zevely Zone story to learn more about Kory's amazing journey of redemption and love for his family.
