Edited with random footages shot during Delay Trees' show in Tampere, Finland on 26 Oct, 2012.
Additional camera work by Sami Korhonen.
Last October, I traveled to Finland to catch Delay Trees perform in Tampere and casually mentioned of making a video from footages from that night. We didn’t know to which song at the time nor had any plan/concept for the video - I just documented four affable lads in their conviviality.
Unlike my previous music videos, many which involved intricate preproduction, “Future” was made in the post. It was no easy task to edit to an aggressive song that lasts almost six and half minutes, but somehow the video encapsulates the vibe of Delay Trees on October 26, 2012. It was both limiting and liberating to work with only the footage from one unplanned night - my video version of lo-fi.
Delay Trees will be performing at by:Larm in Oslo, Norway on February (15th & 16th), and Doze will be available worldwide digitally via Soliti March 4th.
Premiere at Under The Radar:
LYRICS (Rami Vierula):
Future quit killing my feelings, I can’t afford feeling down
I’m sensing life before meanings – face the world phenomenologically
Future it’s not you that I’m missing, you always look too sad
Memories are what I believe in – face the world nostalgically
Future I’m tired of fighting so let your cold wave wash over me
Teach me to fear nothing and face the world fearlessly
