1 of 7 submissions to “One Day On Earth: 12.12.12”. The very same train shots from one of my previous submissions becomes a ticket for a ride into Sub-Cubism where the destination is simply the geometry of motion. While we are familiar with looking at altered time as per time-lapse, sped up, or slowed down sequences, this piece addresses the altered space of reflected geometry—somewhat of a cousin to Cubism.
I decided to capture the places that I think are my local "dots" that globally connect us. Since I am passionate about ships and trains, I spent 2/3 of 12.12.12 at the Emeryville Amtrak Station and the Port of Richmond (California). These dots are the crossroads of people and cargo connecting the "here" and the "there" and back again.
