1 of 7 submissions to “One Day On Earth: 12.12.12”. This one captures an unexpected BNSF container freight while I was waiting for Amtrak passenger train arrivals and departures on the afternoon of 12.12.12 at the Emeryville Amtrak Station in Emeryville, California. Who would have guessed that later that evening my good friend and poet G. P. Skratz would have his original "Freight Train" song ready to record?
Accompanying Mr. Skratz is Mr. Ben Travis playing djembe. Special thanks to Ben Travis and G. P. Skratz for being there for me on 12.12.12 with all their wonderful work.
I decided to capture the places that I think are my local "dots" that globally connect us. Since I am passionate about ships and trains, I spent 2/3 of 12.12.12 at the Emeryville Amtrak Station and the Port of Richmond (California). These dots are the crossroads of people and cargo connecting the "here" and the "there" and back again.
