Costa Rica’s tropical environment is home to more than 200 mammal species including 4 monkey species, 2 sloth species and 3 anteater species. Bats are the most abundant Mammal species in Costa Rica and are one of the major contributors to keeping the bug population down and the plant diversity and density very high.
