This was a great project, but would have been a million times easier if we'd made it after the following software/effects pallet update.
The aim was to create a very "Open University" spoof look. From a performance aspect that was all down to the very talented Jez Shervell, but from a technical/visual aspect it was a much harder task. Trying at purposefully make digital video look dated was tricker than most would think. No one stop preset plugin allowed us to create the miss aligned tube cameras look, so a clever combination of grading, film grain, multiple layering with single colour channel layers delivered the final output. "Enhanced" with purposely ropey keying (again something hard to actually recreate on text tool) the final product was something we were all happy with.
I even created the Xerox University title, with its beautiful little jump in graphic elements position.
