The end. A new inscription begins. Midnight Shift kicks off a fourth year of existence by going back to the first ancestral letter: ALPHA.
Held in the cavernous confines of Velvet Underground-Dance, the night casts a new stone in electronic waters, presenting a tribe of music mavens, hunters and gatherers from different corners, brought together in séance for one night out of time.
Zouk resident and young warrior Ming raises the first call, writing the first sentence in the yearbook with his distinctive mixing style and hardhitting selections. Singapore-based Croatian, Mislav (Burek, Mugic Soundsystem), will be up next to podium, traversing a wide musical repertoire consisting of an uncompromising mixture of electric funk, old school electro, house/techno hybrids, disco, various leftfield and obscure disco/punk/nu wave oddities to open minds and ears. Singapore’s first doyenne of dance and techno provocateur Angela Flame will grace the proceedings next with her exquisite taste and veteran experience coming forth while played Live – dark, deep, sensual and tough.
From 2am, our first International Mystery Guest of the year comes through. First discovered at the tender age of 15 and breaking through while still only 23, this British boy’s rough-around-the-edges brand of classical industrial and classic techno has already caught up with most. Midnight Shift is honoured to be in the growth chart of this talent in house as he performs a full hardware and vinyl show.
Casting visual shadows on the wall will be VJs Avneesh and Burrows back to back, while favourite host Kevin Lester of SIXX will narrate the stories of the night yet to unfold.
Live Graffiti Art by Ceno2
Graffiti artist Ceno2 will be painting an exclusive large-scale work at the venue throughout the night. Don’t miss ceno2.com.
