After completing the 2-Day Coast to Coast event in 2012 and fracturing her check bone only 10km from the finish line, Fiona is back to take on the next step in her endurance journey, the 1-Day Coast to Coast. This gruelling event will see Fiona cycle 140 kms, run 36 km (including a 33 km mountain stage that crosses the Southern Alps) and kayak 67 kms of the grade two Waimakariri River through the Grand Canyon of New Zealand, the Waimakariri Gorge.

Fiona, has undertaken her training on top of working full-time and is doing the event to give further awareness of depression in New Zealand and to raise funds for Lifeline Aotearoa. Lifeline provides 24 hour, 7 day a week free telephone counselling as well as Face-to-Face counselling services. Lifeline's mission is to provide safe, effective and innovative services that support the emotional and mental wellbeing of our communities. Lets help Fiona show New Zealand that depression is not something to hide away from and never be spoken about.

The Cadre team were privileged to spend a summer afternoon filming Fiona during a day of training around the lakes, forest and countryside of Rotorua and hope this gives you further insight into Fionas inspiration and drive to complete the 2013 Coast to Coast.

Please get behind this great cause and a committed athlete by generously supporting Fiona's Lifeline campaign, Every little bit counts! If you live in New Zealand your donation is tax deductible and a receipt will be issued. All details are available here:
