A practicing Buddhist living in Santa Fe, NM, Cynthia Jurs found herself entrusted twenty years ago with a seemingly strange mission. During a trip to Nepal, she visited in a mountain cave an old Lama who gave her the assignment to bury thirty prayer vases, or “Earth Treasure Vases", in places around the world that needed to be healed. After wondering for many years how she should go about doing such a thing, she eventually created the "Earth Treasure Vase Global Healing Project" dedicated to bringing communities together around a common aspiration for Peace in parts of the world that desperately need healing and restoration. One of the most striking examples of her success are the peace and reconciliation centers that were built in the West African country of Liberia as a result of her visit.
