CIRCOLANDO is an intercultural project aimed to create a space of exchange and mutual understanding among young people of different cultures, with a spirit of openness to dialogue, using “circus” as main tool. The participants, 20 young boys and girls, coming from Sardinia and from Palestine, were involved in workshops of circus art, which generated sharing of experiences, new skills and good practices.
The youth exchange took place in Sardinia, in the Municipality of Serrenti, a little town near Cagliari, in October 2012.
The methodology of the Program of the exchange was based on non-formal education.
The project was granted by the European Commission and the Italian Youth Agency within the Program Youth in Action, Action 3.1.
The promoters of the Youth Exchange are the Sardinian Association Genti de Mesu and the Palestinian Association Assirk Assaghir Nablus Circus School, with the cooperation of Association “Educazione e Liberta A.E.L." (Education and Freedom), and the Comitato Giovani di Serrenti (Youth Committee of Serrenti).
The Project was realized thanks to the sponsor of the Municipality of Serrenti and the support of the Municipality of Cagliari and the Province of Cagliari.
