A brief look at thesis work on bottom-up space planning software titled "The Many Headed Model".
Each programmatic element is represented by an autonomous agent. Agents communicate indirectly - through the modification of their mutual environment via virtual "pheromones". Each agent both pursues and emits a specific pheromone concentration or "target" in its occupation of space. Agents with similar targets congregate while those with disparate targets avoid each other as they expand their respective territories. In this way, adjacencies between compatible programs self-organize producing a variety of informed schematic design solutions.
