In addition to hosting private dinners, Flesh for Food creates some of the most delicious, artisanal, craft bacon you've ever tasted. The only trick is: Where do you find it and how can you get it?
Operating just under the radar in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, founder Drew, a former cook at several upscale restaurants, and his girlfriend Amanda create specially formulated cures for their bacon - cooked using wood gathered from bourbon and wine barrels, which they sell at events and directly to an ever-growing list of friends.
Although they have to operate without the required licenses due to strict and costly city and pork industry regulations, Drew and Amanda's dedicated fan base seems to signal ongoing success, underground and otherwise, for the greatest bacon the city has likely ever tasted.
