A successful artist looses his ability to paint by an ominous joint disease. All he worked for, all he ever believed in, his speed, his strength, his qualities as man and father are suddenly at stake.
Befor he can accept that forced deceleration, he has to overcome his feeling of helplessness and realise he is not alone. - Maybe he is even thought off a lot more than he wants to be.

This film is about pain.
I was suddenly affected by a chronic joint disease myself, and that brought up some questions: How to continue? What to cling to? What is important?
The film deals with these questions and shows, structurally oriented on the five stages of coping with an incurable disease: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance, the protagonist’s very own way out of such a crisis.
- The violent fantasy at the end reflects the ever-present hope for an easy solution, a ‘waking up and everything is back to normal,’ and on the other hand, ironically counteracts the mood of the film, allowing the protagonist, the viewer, and also the film maker a moment of liberation from all constraints: the serious issue, the moral, ethics, aesthetics, the genre – ‘a bullet between the eyes to all that.’
