Initially this piece was an attempt to recreate the blood elevator shot from The Shining but due to this being my first piece using realflow I focused more on getting the scene to work and look visually interesting even if it isn't a copy of the shot in the film.
The simulation was 4 million particles and the mesh cache ranged from 300,000 to 1.9 million.
To create the slow motion effect the simulation was done at 150fps then played at 30fps in the final video seen here.
The shader for the blood was an arnold standard shader, through the combination of diffuse, reflections, internal reflections, specular and refraction. I need to investigate more into Arnold lighting as you can see in the video the lighting on the walls flickers constantly, even though this was rendered on only 2 computers in chunk blocks of frames at a time.
I am pleased with the result and want to experiment more with the software to create better simulations.
