This is a compilation of photos in memory of Johanna Olson, an elite runner, and remarkable young woman, who battled brain cancer for some 15 years of her life. Her bravery, and joy for living life to its fullest, has been an inspiration to all those who have known her, or have become acquainted with her story such as myself. So touched was I by this young woman's story that I began piecing together this short video. You can get to know this remarkable person by visiting her blog at Johannaolson.blogspot.com or at savejohannasbrain.com. I set this video to John Denver's "Sunshine On My Shoulders" because, like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, Johanna's life seems to have imparted so much warmth and love on those around her. Only after completing the video did I come to read that John Denver was inspired to write the song on a cloudy, cold and slushy Minnesota (Johanna's home state) winter's day, and being ready for spring, he remembered how just the sun itself can make you feel good. From all the comments I've read, I think Johanna had a gift for doing the same: making people feel good. I hope this video will make you smile, even on a cloudy day.
