SHORTLISTED FOR BEST SCREENWRITER AWARD, UNDERWIRE FESTIVAL 2012.
“Good hands and good ears, that’s all a woman needs in a man.”
Gerald's Best Client has had a blow-dry with her beloved hairdresser every Saturday, at noon, for the past forty-two years... but now another woman is in her chair. A tragi-comic dramatic monologue about loyalty, loss, and a life overlooked.
This monologue was originally written as a theatre piece, but was never performed live. The writer, directors, actor and graphic designer last worked together 10 - 15 years ago, when making factual programmes for ITV. We reconnected, some via Facebook, and this is our first drama film collaboration. We all live in separate corners of England so we didn't meet physically during the making of this film except for a single short filming day. Therefore all pre- and post-production was done via email, Drop-box and Vimeo, in our spare time.
