Sean Kelley-Pegg is a multimedia artist exploring intimacy and the urban environment. Using the
metaphor of ‘performance’ as organizing principle, his work often integrates surveillance technologies
with a site-specific focus.
Sean will use location-aware mobile phone technology to create an app-based virtual public art
event. The Invisible City will overlay Minneapolis’ North Loop, inviting participants on an interactive
exploration of the neighborhood. Picking up clues and following a soundscape and storyline as they
traverse the city, participants will be encouraged to view and experience their known environment
anew, uncovering secrets, connections, and developing new ways of seeing and experiencing the
existing urban landscape.
