Tamsie Ringler is an installation and cast iron artist who uses cars as vehicles for political and
environmental dialogue. Her work can be seen at Franconia Sculpture Park in Minnesota, Touhy Park
and Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park in Chicago and on the MAX Light Rail System in Portland, Oregon.
Tamsie, building on her past repertoire of automobile-based installations, will explore adding new
technological elements and projections into a prototype project to be exhibited at the 2012 Northern
Spark Festival. This piece will continue Ringler’s thematic work with cars as intersections of public and
private realms while supplying the opportunity to conduct necessary research and experimentation that
will lay the groundwork for expanding future projects to incorporate video projections.
