Romans 15:7 - Accept one another just as Christ accepted you in order to bring praise to God. What would revival look like at Eastminster? Richard Lovelace, in the book "The Dynamics of Spiritual Life" studied all the major revivals since the Protestant Reformation including the first great awakening and the second great awakening and the Welsh revival, among others, and he found eight common denominators, regardless of the continent and regardless of the century, that ran through every major revival. Do you know what the first one was? A growing awareness of the depth of sin. Do we want God to pour out His blessing on Eastminster? All in favor say 'aye! Do we want God to supply a new pastor that will walk with you for many years into the future as you seek and serve the Lord together? All in favor say 'aye! See how easy this is? Do you want the favor of God to rest upon this church so it becomes a lighthouse in East Wichita so that people come to faith in Jesus Christ. They meet the LORD here because they've been a part of this ministry! Do we want a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit to blow in and through our hearts and to increasingly transform us into the image of Christ? All in favor say 'aye! Revival Biblically begins with a profound sense of humility personally. Would you join me in asking for the Lord's forgiveness when we, in a prideful, arrogant posture, speak ill of and judge others who have a different preference for worship than we do? Ultimately, this is a heart issue. This is a spiritual maturity issue. God loves us and God wants us to love each other. And one way that we love each other is to honor each others preferences, even when they are not our own. All in favor say 'aye?
