Jazz from the Matrix - Matrix Optimizer 2.1.7
Briefly: Integer quotients from x div y div z (or any other combination) are used as note values for a number of different voices. Where there is no integer result of the division term above, there is no sound. Prime numbers (and numbers with few divisors) make for the musical gaps, versatile numbers (like 12, 60, 360 ...) make for the chords.
An old friend of mine said, in Jazz it's a bout the pause, rather than the note.
But still, this harmonized version, with all quotients pushed through different note scale quantizations, sounds more pleasant to my western ears than, e.g. this chromatic tune: vimeo.com/57656626
