this week has been a whirlwind, to put it lightly. i feel like it was the first real week i had since break ended. it was fun and busy but i'm a little tired out. i think that last quarter everyone was running on the adrenaline that they got from being in a new city with new people and sleeping in a different bed. this week started off with kristie, kenneth, and i going to mallory's intramural volleyball game in the gym. it reminded me of how fun it was to play a sport, but i also remembered all of those early basketball practices. the trend lately has been the capri sun challenge? i don't understand the appeal, but then again, i'm not super competitive. two people try to drink fifteen capri suns in fifteen minutes. most people end up throwing it all up because it's so much sugar in your bod at one time. i made my way to another new cafe this week with henry. we went to cafe fiore in queen anne. i think it's one of my favorites! it's really quiet, so perfect for studying, and it has all these deliciously warm lights that make me so happy. i had a carmel latte and henry had something like a mexican hot chocolate. it was a good day. i still love the aurora bridge, and every time i see it i just want to stare at it forever. they still have the christmas lights up in queen anne, and i love them. i don't know if that's a year round thing or not, but hey, either way it works for me. i feel like the days have slowly been getting longer and longer which i absolutely enjoy. the sky gets all purple around five instead of 4:30. it's a nice change. about halfway through the week i bough some delicious coffee creamer and kenzi, deb, and i had a coffee drinking/homework/chatting party in my room. it was really fun to have people in my room for a change, i feel like i usually run around talking to people. kenzi and i made some guatamala antigua in her french press and it was magically delicious. last friday was jon's last day of work at starbucks so our manager ordered us pizza in celebration. it was one of the best pizzas i've had, and that's saying a lot. but i'll surely miss jon, he taught me a lot when i first got hired. this weekend i went down to urban outfitters because they were having a sale. i was quite successful with my purchases and on the way back, i got really sad when we passed easy street records. the queen anne branch is closing and i just remember when i came to preview spu we stopped in there and i bought a record and a seven inch and the guy was really nice. i'll miss that place for sure. since yesterday was a holiday, i slept over in ashton with rachael. kenneth came over and we watched moonrise kingdom, one of my wes anderson favorites. i love rachael's room, it's sort of what i wish my room looked like, all warm and snuggly. we pushed the two beds together and made one giant one and had a nice night of coversation and sleep. remember how i said i was trying to become more of a tea person in college? well, i kind of put that idea on the back burner, because i've been going through bags of coffee like it's nobody's business. it's so delicious!
