The Pinellas County School District is helping 116 families at Oak Grove Middle School learn english outside of the classroom. The district purchased 160 new DELL notebook computers for English Language Learners to take home and develop their english skills. The computers are loaded with language learning software that does not require internet access and also carries software that will help students in science, social studies, math and other core subjects. Families are able to check out the computers to be used at home until the end of the school year. The assignments are voluntary and are not graded. The program is designed to help reinforce what is taught at school, in a way that is easier to understand at home.
