Performance of Vocal Migrations by Kathy Hinde at St Cuthbert's Hall Bedford, with members from Bedford Creative Arts Community Choir. This piece was inspired by how bats use sound to navigate. Kathy worked with Matt Olden and Tarim at Bristol's Pervasive Media Studio to develop a mobile audio device for live vocal sampling, using distance sensors to change the playback duration of the sample. This performance followed a series of development workshops experimenting with developing the technology from scratch. More info on this project blog pmstudio.co.uk/project/vocal-migrations.
Commissioned by Bedford Creative Arts, support in kind from the Pervasive Media Studio with additional funding from Arts Council England.
