When we first spoke to Melissa last year we were very excited to learn that she was actually calling us from Seattle! It's amazing how small the world has become relative to our ability to travel and communicate. Although I'm sure Melissa and Greg would still tell you that planning a wedding from 3,000 miles away is not exactly a walk in the park.
Whatever headaches they endured while planning, we know for a fact that they were worth it. The outdoor ceremony was BEAUTIFUL and the reception at the Glen Foerd Mansion was awesome (even including the hilariously questionable dance moves we witnessed). And for any future brides out there considering a first look - we think this film offers the best possible justification for doing it. Greg's reaction to seeing Melissa for the first time is truly priceless; it just wouldn't have been the same if he were standing 50 feet away. And of course, doing a first look didn't quell the butterflies he felt later as Melissa walked down the aisle - a fact to which his visible "gulp" attests. As an experienced wedding photographer I know how hard (or impossible) those types of moments are to capture in a single frame, so I'm glad that Melissa had the foresight to make getting a great wedding film a priority.
