After weeks of sub-zero nights and sub-freezing days, Flagstaff has gone into thaw. I took the advantage of the "warm" temperatures and got in a super fun flying session at Mormon Lake Overlook. It was cloudy and spitting rain/snow; but the temps were in the low forties and the light lift was super juicy. I had a blast! It was a perfect day for freestyle/ultrabatic flying. The mood was sublime.
The song, Diamonds on my Windshield, is classic stream of conscious poetry from Tom Waits (1974). It was running through my head that day as I was trying to track my glider through the "diamonds" on my glasses.
