In Dane County, Wisconsin, which includes the capital city Madison, homelessness is skyrocketing as it is across the country. Hundreds of families find themselves with nowhere to go. They scramble for temporary options, often landing in pricey motels and/or staying with others. Unfortunately, this puts them outside the qualifications for federal housing assistance. HUD deems them "not homeless enough." That barrier perpetuates their homelessness, a devastating situation for adults and children alike.
This 10-minute film gives viewers a glimpse of what families endure in homeless situations.
