Hello, my name is Michael Balazs. I live in Santee and would like to inform you about something I do to bring smiles to the neighborhood children and adults alike. Every Christmas I decorate my house, now I don’t just do it any ole way. This year I put up 21000 Christmas Lights and they dance to 5 songs that people can get out or sit in the car and listen to the light show on the radio. I do this light show in memory of my father which passed away from cancer in 2009. Christmas was his favorite time of year and following his death I knew this would make him look down and smile. I only started doing this 3 years ago but I have already grown from 32 Channels to 112 Channels of Christmas Lights. Now I do this to bring awareness to the American Cancer Society. I have been offered donations for new lights or the electric bill but I refuse to take them and instead ask for them to donate that money to the ACS. This is my second year in San Diego doing this and would really like to have more families enjoy this and make it a part of their Christmas. I put a lot of hours into programming the lights to music and a lot of money to set up and expand this show every year. I would really like to see more smiles come from it. I do not gain anything of any kind for this. The only thing I get from this is purely people saying how much they enjoyed watching the show. And when I walk outside and see little kids in front of the house dancing to the music and lights it makes me smile and I know my father is looking down smiling as well. I would really like for you to come out and see for yourself what I have done and help spread the word so other people can enjoy the show as much as I do setting it up.
