The Great Falls Discovery Center in Turners Falls proudly presented the talented musical duo of Michael Nix and Jennie McAvoy on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 7p.m.
Nix and McAvoy performed Celtic and Americana Song, instrumentals, and original compositions for voice, guitar, mandolin and Banjar.
Together, they bring a fresh vision and spellbinding performance in their concerts of songs, instrumentals and original compositions imbued with echoes of Celtic, Americana, Latin, folk, jazz, and classical music.
McAvoy’s warm, lyrical soprano voice is supported by her strong fingerpicking guitar style, and Nix’s instrumental virtuosity on Mandolin and the seven-string Banjar bring the music alive in a charming, whimsical, passionate, and entertainingly original mix of style. Both artists bring together years of performance experience in both folk and classical music that reflect the depth and influence of these traditions in their diverse repertoire
