Mickey Alder, a Project Everlast member who aged out of foster care, speaks about how a Services and Support to 21 program that would be established in LB 216 would help young people like her make a smoother, more successful transition into adulthood. Mickey dropped out of school and experienced homelessness after losing her grandparents who raised her. A better system of transitional support would help young Nebraskans that age out of foster care in the future avoid the same struggles.
