The images for this video were shot during our honeymoon to Iceland in the summer of 2012. We visited various nature sites (a.o. Geysir, Myvatn, Skaftafell, Dettifoss and Gullfoss), fjords (Seyðisfjörður, Eyjafjörður), villages (Vík, Akureyri, etc.) and the island of Grímsey (where we took a dive in the arctic). Direct inspiration for this film come from the early Sigur Rós videoclips (albums Takk, ( ) and Ágætis byrjun) and Iceland nature clips like the fabulous ones from Eva Sturm.
Hailing from a country where every square feet of land has been reshaped by human intervention (the Netherlands) a trip to Iceland is refreshing. Here, in a geologically speaking very young country, you can see nature in it's purest form, thereby witnessing the true greatness of our Creator. Indeed, standing alongside one of the outliers of the Vatnajökull (the biggest glacier in Europe) one feels small and prompts one to think: How great is God? (http://www.allaboutgod.com/how-great-thou-art.htm).
All the images were shot on my Canon HV20 and edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
Music: Sigur Rós - Rembihnútur.
