Intimate Landscapes: Watershed - Chapter 3; GROVE
Observation, patience, and solitude are the focus of this non-narrative, experimental work. Photographed entirely in southeastern Massachusetts, Watershed moves through contrasting scenes of woods and wetlands. Careful looking and listening find, perhaps, a transcendent place. Grove is one short chapter of that larger work.
Watershed is a 60 minute continuously looping single-channel video work that immersively explores the open lands, waters, coastal plains, forests, wetlands, woods and other conservation areas that comprise the Buzzards Bay Watershed in southeastern Massachusetts The work is broken into four general chapters; Watershed, Basket, Grove and Basin. This is a work-in-progress sample of the shortest chapter, Grove. the work is set to debut at the New Bedford Museum of Art in May, 2013.
