One day on Facebook, my friend Patrick Ablir, a fire spinner, posted a video of another fire spinner shot in slow motion. I liked it and asked me if I knew how to make one for him. I said bingo! Let's do it! So with the usual suspects Bertrand Rémaut and Géraldine Clermont [and a bit of help from Julie Anterrieu] we went and shot this video in Auckland, going from the usual Fire Poi beach setting to some more urban landscapes. It was fun. We shot it with a 550D, a GH2 and the brand new GH3 along with some nifty lenses we have in our bags.
We also shot some material for a short documentary about Patrick that the aforementioned suspects are cutting right now and it should be pretty cool too.
And thanks to all the spinners who were there when we shot it, and the cool guys we met at the silo.
