HOUSExGUEST is proud to introduce our new Head Chef, JIMMY STEWART
Born and raised in North Vancouver, Jimmy Stewart is 25 years old and is taking the reins at HOUSExGUEST. Jimmy completed his culinary degree in Vancouver at the age of 18. With a strong worth ethic and passion for food, Jimmy quickly found his his way into some of the city’s best restaurants. At Lumiere, Jimmy had the opportunity to meet, and work with, his biggest culinary influence, Dale MacKay. Jimmy went on to work at Gordon Ramsay’s MAZE and the Ledbury in London, England, followed by a time spent in Toronto at Colborne Lane and Origin. He eventually made his way back out west to work at DB Bistro, and ultimatley settled in at Bearfoot Bistro where he became Sous Chef. At the Bearfoot he worked to create daily tasting menus focusing on local produce and working with Chef Melissa Craig. During this period Jimmy became the youngest Chef to date, to appear on Top Chef Canada. With strong beliefs in foraging and a love for Canadian products and ingredients, he is driven by a modern Canadian cuisine that is inspired by its people and surroundings. Jimmy excited for his new roll at HOUSExGUEST and excited to finally have the opportunity to fully actualize his vision for what a modern Canadian cuisine can be.
